Xeround Platforms
Xeround Runs on Amazon EC2 (RDS Alternative), Rackspace & Heroku
Designed as a native cloud database, Xeround’s database solution is vendor agnostic – meaning it can run on any cloud service provider.
Users that choose Xeround can avoid vendor lock-in and run their database on any cloud provider as well as migrate seamlessly between different clouds without requiring any code changes to their applications.
Xeround’s cloud database is currently available on our Amazon EC2 datacenters in the United States and in Europe, the Heroku cloud platform, and on the Rackspace Cloud. Support for additional cloud providers and availability zones is planned in the near future.

Xeround on Amazon EC2
Users who are deploying their applications on Amazon EC2 and either running their own MySQL or using Amazon RDS, can simply transition to using Xeround’s database by changing the connection address, loading the schema and running it.
Xeround offers multiple advantages over Amazon RDS. See the Amazon RDS feature comparison or the Xeround vs. RDS performance benchmark.
Xeround on Rackspace Cloud
Xeround is the only true elastic cloud database for MySQL applications offered on the Rackspace Cloud.

Xeround Add-on for Heroku
Xeround’s add-on lets you create your MySQL cloud database instance with a single click from within your Heroku environment.

To minimize latency, it’s advisable that your application is hosted in the same datacenter as your Xeround database.
Xeround operates in the following datacenters:
- Amazon EC2 US East Coast (us-east)
- This datacenter also services MySQL Heroku applications that are using Xeround’s Add-on.
- Amazon EC2 West Europe (eu-west)
- RackSpace US East Coast (ORD1)
You can choose on which datacenter to create your new cloud database from Xeround’s Database Manager online console.
