Mountain View, CA; O’Reilly Strata, NY Xeround, the Cloud Database Company, today announced the commercial availability of their database-as-a-service for MySQL-based applications on the Rackspace Cloud. Furthermore, the company is releasing an API, allowing developers to configure their application to automatically create and manage multiple database instances in the cloud.

After five months in beta serving hundreds of users, Xeround’s database-as-a-service has become commercially available on the Rackspace Cloud. This is in addition to commercial availability on Amazon EC2 and the Heroku platform announced last June. Xeround’s service will initially be offered on Rackspace in the US and then expanding to Rackspace UK and additional cloud providers in the next few months.
