We’re excited to announce our latest product upgrade out today, which includes some key enhancements to Xeround’s Cloud Database service.
First and foremost, we’ve achieved SIGNIFICANT performance improvements:
Check out the updated benchmark comparing our service to Amazon’s RDS (single, and Multi-A-Z) and to Rackspace’s MySQL cloud database.
Tests were conducted on the actual cloud live environment to make sure there was no environment-specific bias, using standard DBT-2 database benchmark application.
See how this latest release compares to our previous one, and to RDS’ performance:
Additional features included in this latest product upgrade:
- Support for Full Text Search via Full Text Index
- MySQL version upgraded to 5.5.20
- Xeround BASIC edition now supports restore-from-backup capability
- Caching of static tables and Btree indexes
Check out the Release Notes for detailed list of features.

Can you put some benchmarks about subquery performance? We’re interested in xeround, but one of our current slowdown is due to subqueries & can’t find any useful info about xeround subquery performance.
Also is this release based on the mysql 5.5 GA?
The latest release is in fact MySQL 5.5- you can read more on the release notes at http://xeround.com/developers/release-notes/
We’ll get our engineers look into expanding the benchmark and publish something soom.
