NEW: Xeround Cloud Database Now Supports Full Text Search

We’re happy to announce that our latest product release now supports Full Text Search via Full Text Index.

This index type is particularly popular when working with large text files, or with some specific CMS application uses – such as Wordpress or Joomla!.

This latest product upgrade also introduces significant performance improvements, upgrade to MySQL 5.5, ‘restore-from-backup’ support for BASIC customers, and more.

*Existing Customers:

If you have an existing Xeround DB instance running, and want to take advantage of Full Text Index, you’ll need to migrate your instance to the new release (create a new instance and import a dump of your old database to it).

Note the new release supports MySQL version 5.5. While for most users the upgrade is seamless, please consult the release notes to see if any differences between MySQL 5.1 (Xeround’s previous release) and MySQL 5.5 might have an affect on your app.
