Senior DBA – Mountain View, CA
Responsibilities:
- Work as a senior member of an operations team
- Work directly with Xeround’s customers and their applications development teams to design and implement appropriate database technologies and methodologies
- Identify and implement database monitoring, capacity planning and performance monitoring processes
- Maintain and support internal and customer databases in a 24/7 production environment
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of database server software, patches, upgrades and utilities
- Work with systems administrators on installing, configuring and maintaining Xeround’s service
Position requirements:
- 7+ years experience as a production DBA on Unix/Linux environments maintaining production databases
- Recent experience installing, configuring and managing MySQL servers
- Strong SQL skills and strong familiarity with at least one of the following: C/C++, Java, shell scripting or Perl
- “Soft” skills and user-facing abilities
- Pre-sale capabilities to assist business development efforts
- Experience in SaaS, Web applications, Cloud Computing and/or distributed systems is an advantage
